ULIGHT provides OEM and ODM retail shelf lighting manufacturing for custom magnetic LED bars, DC power tracks, and light boxes. What Can Be Customized?
| Parameter | Options |
|---|---|
| Bar length | Produced to required dimensions, not fixed catalogue sizes |
| CRI | CRI>80 / 90 / 95 depending on model |
| CCT / colour temperature | Selectable to match product or brand lighting |
| PC cover | Clear, frosted, or opal diffusion |
| Mounting | Magnetic for metal; pads, clips, or project fixing for glass, wood, MDF |
| Branding | Private label — products supplied under the customer’s own brand |
OEM or ODM — Two Ways to Work
ULIGHT works both ways. The difference is who owns the design:
| OEM | ODM | |
|---|---|---|
| Who designs | You supply the drawing | ULIGHT designs, or co-develops with you |
| ULIGHT’s role | Manufactures to your specification | Engineers a producible design to your requirement |
| Branding | Private label available for both — products carry your brand | |
The OEM Development Process
For a fully new or custom product, development runs in eight steps. Early stages are free; tooling begins after deposit.

Tooling Cost and Mould Ownership
New-product development that requires a mould can be arranged in two ways:
| Model | Tooling cost | Mould ownership & terms |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusive | Customer pays 100% | Mould belongs to the customer. ULIGHT signs an NDA and will not resell the customer-specific design, use the exclusive tooling for other customers, or share drawings with any third party without written consent. |
| Co-development | Shared 50 / 50 | Joint development. Territory and resale rights are agreed before tooling; ULIGHT may sell the jointly developed product in markets outside the customer’s agreed territory. |
In-House Engineering
ULIGHT has structural and electronic engineers in-house, so it can co-develop from a fixture concept or performance target rather than only building to a finished drawing. Free CAD adjustment is provided during design, with feedback typically within 12–24 hours. For ULIGHT’s full manufacturing and supply-chain capability, see the magnetic shelf lighting manufacturer page.
Lead Times and Minimum Order
| Sample (standard product) | 3–5 working days |
| New-product development | 30–45 working days |
| Standard production | Typically around 15 working days |
| Minimum order | Varies by product and components |
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between OEM and ODM at ULIGHT?
With OEM, you supply the drawing and ULIGHT manufactures to your specification. With ODM, ULIGHT designs or co-develops a producible product to your requirement. Both are supplied under your own brand.
What do you need from me to start a custom project?
Your drawing or specification, fixture type, and application. Enquiry, drawing review, and quotation are free. Once you approve the quote, development proceeds after the deposit is received.
Who pays for the mould, and who owns it?
Two options. Exclusive: you pay 100% of tooling and the mould belongs to you, with an NDA and no third-party sharing. Co-development: tooling is shared 50/50, and ULIGHT may sell in markets outside your agreed territory.
Will ULIGHT protect my drawings and custom design?
Yes. For exclusive tooling projects, ULIGHT signs an NDA and does not share customer drawings, use exclusive tooling for other customers, or resell the customer-specific design without written consent. For co-development projects, tooling cost, territory, and resale rights are agreed before development begins.
How long does new-product development take?
Typically 30–45 working days for a fully new product, from tooling through sample. Standard-product samples take 3–5 working days.
Is there a minimum order quantity?
MOQ varies by product and components — some parts carry their own minimums. It is confirmed at quotation.
